Pixboom Cine
PIXBOOM Cine is a professional software tool designed for handling PXBC files captured by the PIXBOOM SPARK camera. It combines media ingestion, review, trimming, and format conversion into a single streamlined workflow, enabling users to efficiently prepare footage for post-production.
With PIXBOOM Cine, users can easily import PXBC footage, trim clips, and export them to standard CinemaDNG sequences or other formats.
System Requirements
The current public release supports 64-bit operating systems only.
Supported operating systems include:
macOS: macOS 13 Ventura or later
Windows: Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit only)
The macOS version supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
Minimum Requirements
To ensure the software can launch, preview, and perform export tasks properly, the system should meet the following minimum requirements:
- 64-bit processor
- Available hardware graphics acceleration
- 8 GB RAM
- Adequate local storage space for media access, caching, exported files, and log writing
Recommended Configuration
For a more stable preview experience and higher export performance, the following configuration is recommended:

Pixboom Firmware
Prepare a Dedicated USB Drive: Use a USB-C flash drive formatted to FAT32. Ensure the firmware package is the only file on the drive; remove all other data to avoid installation conflicts.
Turn on the camera first, and only after it is fully powered on should you insert the USB-C flash drive into the camera’s port. Navigate to Settings -> Menu -> System -> Firmware Upgrade -> Update, then press and hold the “Hold for 5 sec” button for 5 seconds to start. Wait patiently for the process to finish or for the device to reboot automatically.
Once the upgrade is complete, you must go to Settings -> Menu -> System -> Factory Reset to perform a factory reset, followed by one final manual reboot/restart of the device.
Critical Safety Warning: Do not turn off the power or remove the USB drive during the upgrade process. Doing so can cause irreversible, permanent hardware damage (“bricking” the camera).

Pixboom Pro Card 2.5TB User Manual
Pixboom Pro Card 2.5TB is optimized for Pixboom Spark high-speed recording.
Important Notes
- No Hot-Swapping: Do not insert or remove the Pro Card while the camera is powered on or recording. Doing so may result in data loss or media damage.
- Formatting Recommendation: Always format the Pro Card directly in-camera whenever possible. If formatting on a PC, use Windows Disk Management only. Set the file system to exFAT and the Allocation Unit Size strictly to 16MB (16,384 KB). *Do not use macOS for formatting, as it does not support the required 16MB allocation unit size and may cause severe recording speed degradation.
