The Journey to Pixboom: From Lab Dreams to Creator Realities

Our journey began in an unlikely place: a research lab. As PhD students, our co-founders worked on ultra-high-speed imaging systems designed for scientific use, capable of capturing millions of frames per second. Watching those fleeting moments unfold in exquisite slow motion sparked something in us.

Why should the beauty of slow motion—the ability to see time in ways the human eye cannot—be confined to Hollywood or high-budget labs? What if anyone could harness the power of high-speed cameras without needing a six-figure budget or a squad?

This realization set us on a journey in 2015 to make high-speed imaging accessible to everyone—from seasoned filmmakers to curious beginners.
