Dear Pixboom Community,

As I sit down to write this email, I find myself overwhelmed with emotion about what we’ve accomplished together over the past 30 days. $3.5 million raised. 400+ backers. But these numbers, as impressive as they are, only scratch the surface of what this journey has truly meant.

The month leading to our Kickstarter launch was a beautiful chaos. I remember the sleepless nights in our office as our team meticulously refined every detail of our launch. Not just the technical aspects of Spark, but the story we wanted to tell the world. A story that began in a research lab but has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined.

I’ll never forget our trip to Dubai, where I finally got to meet many of you face-to-face. There’s something profoundly different about seeing the excitement in someone’s eyes when they hold Spark for the first time—something no Zoom call can capture. Back in LA, Spark got to meet some true legends in the industry: Ariel, Dan, Ty, Jim, and David at the high-speed cinematography workshop with Atlas Lens. Watching Spark in their hands—their decades of expertise meeting our years of research and development—was a moment of validation I wish everyone on our team could have witnessed.

Then came that surreal moment at IBC when we huddled in a hotel lobby, hearts racing, as we pressed the button to launch our campaign. I remember looking around at our team—exhausted but exhilarated—knowing that whatever happened next, we had poured everything into this moment.

Meanwhile, our engineers were battling their own challenges, working through countless iterations of software that still needs refinement. There were moments of frustration, breakthrough, and everything in between—the messy reality behind every innovation that the public never sees.

What sustained us through these intense days wasn’t just ambition or the pursuit of technical excellence. It was the messages that would flood in at 3 AM from creators across different time zones, sharing their visions of what they could create if high-speed imaging was finally within reach. It was the community forum discussions where you didn’t just cheer us on but challenged us to be better. It was your voices that reminded us why we started this journey in the first place.

Looking back to our beginnings as PhD students, we were simply captivated by those fleeting moments revealed only through high-speed capture—the splash of a droplet, the flutter of a hummingbird’s wings, the emotion crossing a face in a fraction of a second. We believed these moments shouldn’t be the exclusive domain of those with massive budgets or technical expertise. That simple belief has carried us from laboratory experiments to the moment on October 18th, 2025, when our campaign closed at $3.5 million.

What moves me most about this milestone isn’t the validation of our technology or business model. It’s the affirmation of something more fundamental: that in a world often divided, thousands of people from across the globe can still unite behind the simple joy of seeing the world differently. That creativity knows no boundaries when the right tools are accessible to all. That together, we can democratize not just technology, but wonder itself.

As we transition from campaign to production, I make this solemn promise: we will continue this journey together. Every decision, every feature, every improvement will be guided by the principle that brought us here—that Spark belongs to the community as much as it belongs to us. Your stories are our purpose.

To each person who believed in us before Spark was anything more than an idea, who offered feedback that shaped our direction, who shared our vision with others when we couldn’t reach them ourselves—you are the true architects of this success. You didn’t just fund a camera; you funded a revolution in how stories can be told.

This isn’t the end of a campaign. It’s the beginning of a movement—one where the magic of high-speed imaging becomes a creative language available to all. The real journey starts now, and I couldn’t ask for better companions along the way.

With profound gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead,

Young
